Board-certified urologist practising at Générale-Beaulieu Hospital since 2020. Expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, combined with attentive, patient-centred medicine.
Dr. Gregory Wirth is a Swiss board-certified (FMH), fellowship-trained urologist and urologic surgeon offering the full spectrum of urological diagnosis and treatment in Geneva, with a focus on innovation, minimally invasive techniques, and attentive patient care.
In 2020, Dr. Wirth joined the Centre d’Urologie Générale-Beaulieu (CUGB), whose founders, Dr. Charles-Henry Rochat and Dr. Georges-Antoine de Boccard, were pioneers of robotic surgery in Switzerland. Building on this heritage, he continues their tradition of excellence while bringing his own experience in urological oncology and academic medicine. Prior to joining CUGB, he served as Vice-Chair in the division of Urology then led by Prof. Christophe Iselin at the Geneva University Hospital (HUG), where he remains a consulting physician.
Raised in an international environment in Strasbourg, France, Dr. Wirth studied medicine at the University of Freiburg, Germany, and completed his specialist training in Switzerland. He subsequently undertook fellowships in urological oncology at Massachusetts General Hospital / Harvard Medical School in Boston (Prof. Aria Olumi) and at Vienna General Hospital (Prof. Shahrokh Shariat) in Austria, deepening his expertise in cancer surgery and academic research.
Dr. Wirth is a member of the Swiss International Prostate Centre (SIPC), a network of renowned specialists in prostate imaging and pathology, as well as in specific treatment modalities for a broad spectrum of prostatic diseases.
He mainly operates at Clinique Générale-Beaulieu, the cradle of robot-assisted urology in Western Switzerland, but regularly works in further hospitals in Geneva and Fribourg, each answering to specific technical needs.
Dr. Wirth serves on the examination board of the Swiss Society of Urology and is a member of the French, the European and the American Associations of Urology. He sits on the board of Cancer Support Switzerland, the English-speaking cancer association in Geneva.
Continuing a tradition established by the founders of CUGB, Dr. Wirth has extensive experience in da Vinci robotic surgery for prostate, kidney, and bladder conditions — offering patients the benefits of precision, smaller incisions, and faster recovery.
Diagnosis and surgical treatment of cancers of the prostate, bladder, and kidney. Dr. Wirth’s oncology focus was shaped by fellowships in Boston and Vienna and by years of academic practice at Geneva University Hospital.
Dr. Wirth was among the first in Geneva to offer the Stockholm3 test — a next-generation blood test for prostate cancer risk assessment — in which he has developed practical experience. In his practice at CUGB, he employs the latest generation platform for prostate biopsies. Among the first in Europe, he has had early access to a novel immunotherapy for bladder cancer (Adstiladrin) on a compassionate use basis.
Full spectrum of urological care including benign prostatic conditions, kidney stones, and urinary tract disorders — all performed with a commitment to minimally invasive, patient-centred approaches.
Dr. Wirth’s practice has a long tradition of caring for patients from all walks of life and all corners of the world. Fluent in French, English, and German, he is committed to making every patient feel understood and well looked after, regardless of where they come from. Whether you are based in Geneva or travelling from abroad, you are welcome.
A second opinion can bring clarity, confirm a diagnosis, or open up alternatives you may not have considered. Dr. Wirth is happy to review urological cases — whether you are based in Geneva or abroad — and offer an independent, considered assessment.
